A ‪@PBS12‬ ORIGINAL In partnership with Denver Urban Gardens Explore Denver Urban Gardens (DUG) with the Summer Garden Stroll program. The Troy Chavez Memorial Peace Garden in North Denver, was built in 1994 in memory of Troy Chavez, designed with Aztec art and featuring medicinal herbs and plots for residents to grow their own food. Discover the revitalized Oasis Garden, a true urban oasis that fosters closer neighbor connections. We also tour the Shoshone Community Garden in Lower Highlands, where 30 local gardeners connect and cultivate diverse crops like corn, beans, squash, and peppers for fresh meals. Finally, learn about the historic Pecos Community Garden (the "OG DUG Garden") in North Denver, originally started for food access and to provide space for the Hmong community to grow traditional foods, now aiming to get younger generations involved in gardening and maintain green space in an urbanizing neighborhood.
