New Forge Update - piling work approaches 70% completion | Sheffield Forgemasters

As we move at pace into 2025, we can share the latest update on our new Forge development, where piling work for the foundations nears 70 per cent completion. This aerial video shows the transformation of our Brightside Lane site since work began in 2022, with demolition of former buildings and the progress made by our delivery partner VINCI Building to prepare the ground and fix concrete piles for our new 13,000-tonne Forging Line. The forging line will be complemented by a new machining facility, which will house 21 of the world’s most advanced, heavy-duty machine tools, for the manufacture of complex forgings and castings for defence and civil nuclear applications. With our on-going apprenticeships programme, training the next generation of a nuclear skills task force for the UK, and our heavy investment in plant to underpin the UK defence supply chain, the future is looking very bright on Brightside Lane!
