Palestinian child Mohammad Al-Darbi says he ate sand to “express his anger” because “there’s no food in Gaza”. Mohammad, 12 years old, was seen in a video that has since became viral, putting a handful of sand in his mouth due to a lack of food caused by Israel’s ongoing war and blockade on Gaza and asked for the world to “have mercy” on Palestinians. Mohammad said that he wishes for the war to end so he can “go back to school”.
