This trip marks the beginning of my retirement journey in Guatemala. While I haven’t moved yet, I’m staying at my wife’s family home in Zone 2, Guatemala City, as I start the process of house hunting and working with my lawyer on residency paperwork. In this episode, I take you through a slice of daily life in the city—enjoying breakfast at San Martín, visiting Portales Mall, and experiencing both the humble generosity of the neighborhood and the modern side of Guatemala City. The primary focus of this trip was my stop at the U.S. Embassy in Guatemala City, where I needed to get an official copy of my U.S. passport—an essential step in my residency application. From here, I’ll be meeting with realtors in Antigua to look at homes for my wife and me as we plan for retirement in her home country. In this video: ✔️ Staying in Zone 2, Guatemala City ✔️ A taste of local life at San Martín & Portales Mall ✔️ My visit to the U.S. Embassy for residency paperwork ✔️ Beginning the house hunting phase in Guatemala ✔️ Why this is the first big step in my retirement journey abroad 👉 Subscribe to follow along as I share the ups, downs, and discoveries on the path to retiring in Guatemala! #Guatemala #realestate #Expats #GuatemalaLife #ExpatRetirement
