Expungement - Good Cause Hearing

This training shows an example of a typical expungement for good cause hearing. A disposition of Probation Before Judgment or STET usually require you to wait 3 years before filing for expungement. You may however request the Judge grant the expungement early for "Good Cause". This is a loosely defined term but facts that can be relevant are 1) whether the case is holding the client back from a good job, 2) whether the client is the sole bread winner of their household, and 3) whether they have minor dependents who could be adversely harmed by the criminal record.
