#Exports #AndhraExports #IndianExports ✵ About Palani Phani Kiran, Asst. Director General of Foreign Trade Mr Palani Phani Kiran hails from the village of Guntupalli in Krishna District of AP. He completed his schooling in Vijayawada and then pursued engineering in electrical and electronics from the Birla Institute of Technology and Sciences, BITS Pilani Goa Campus. Next, he worked with Rockwell Automation before joining the prestigious Prime Minister’s Rural Development Fellowship. He has the distinction of being the youngest ever PMRDF fellow. It was during this time where he worked in the naxal affected areas and the tribal regions of the Ganjam District in Odisha that he decided to appear for the UPSC Civil Services Examination. In 2019 after clearing UPSC, Phani joined the elite Indian Trade Service. He is presently posted as assistant director General of Foreign Trade in DGFT regional office, New Delhi. His key areas of interests include WTO and trade negotiations, services export with a special focus on first generation exporters in emerging sectors such as AI and green technology. In his free time Phani enjoys doing Yoga and is an avid reader.
