Here at AR, we believe in options, so we have two alternative checkout workflows that your Practice can implement. Front Desk Checkout allows the provider in the room to leverage our chart-to-cart workflow to build the invoice directly from charting services. Once complete, they can simply mark it for front desk checkout and send the patient on their way. In this workflow, the front desk staff can spend more time to offer retail products or discuss packages or promotions available for pre-sell and add any items to the pending invoice. From here, they can take payment and finalize the invoice. Meanwhile the Provider has moved on to the next patient on the schedule. A second workflow involves our web-based Virtual Terminal. If your Providers prefer to build the invoice using our chart-to-cart workflow, and they want to be the ones to add retail or pre-sell items, this is a viable option for the practice! Once a Provider has Finished with the patient, they can save the invoice, and your Front Desk team can access it from the web-based AR-command center where they can apply payment. The virtual terminal is also a great option for call-in events. One person can build invoices on the AR iOS iPad while another can run payments on the virtual terminal. In both cases, you can swipe a credit card, use cards on file, apply AR wallet dollars, transact with Cherry balances, or collect cash. It’s all just a matter of preference! Once an invoice is paid, it’s visible on the web-based clinic and Provider schedule. The appointment card turns green so your staff will know at any given moment who has checked-in but not checked-out so patients don’t leave without being asked for payment.
