Freers' Fortification is an English Country Dance devised by Hilary Herbert in 2014. It is a four couple longways dance with the 1s and 3s improper. The tune, called Theme Vannitaise was probably composed for a Breton television series in 1973, and it was performed by Dave Bartley, Ruthie Dornfeld and Terry Wergeland for the Seattle English Country Dance Ball, 2025. The music is used with permission from the performers. https://www.seattledance.org/english/... The animation plays at 106 counts per minute, but the first time through the set the dance is slowed down so people can learn the figures more readily. Men are drawn as rectangles, women as ellipses. Each couple is drawn in its own color, however the border of each dancer indicates what role they currently play so the border color will change each time through the minor set. https://www.upadouble.info/ For information on linking to this animation see: https://upadouble.info/about.php#linking
