This film started as a dream. It started as a tiny project using my grandpa's camera and grew into something much more meaningful. My goal was something raw and authentic, not manipulated and only highlighting the good moments. I wanted to show the reality of cheer and why it should not be underestimated but also the wholesomeness of my team and our achievements. I would like to take a moment and thank everyone who made my dream possible: Firstly, all of my teammates for allowing me to video all the good, the bad, and everything in between. I am so lucky to have such supportive not only teammates but also people I get to call my friends. I am so proud to be the one that gets to show everyone how hard y'all work and how much you're worth! Let this show that you guys are more than a place and a trophy, but instead a family and the most hardworking, passionate people I have ever met. (A separate thank you to my teammates Lacey Bone and Apple Antonia for stepping up and filming for me when I couldn't). Secondly, thank you to my coaches that trusted me with this. All of you are the ultimate meaning to what a coach is. You are capable and strong and I'm so grateful for all of you. (Also, apart of being a coach is being hard and tough on your athletes. This documentary is footage from over three months all into almost 50 minutes. Not a single person on this team would say we have a toxic environment or coaches we cannot go to. Several people would say that Melissa is like a second mom to them and talk about how they love our other coaches. What you see is the most dramatic parts, the parts where our coaches need to be tough on us because we need to hear it. I will not allow any slander or speculation because we truly do have the best coaches that will always do what they think is best for us and love us so much. However, if I added every sweet moment, this documentary would be hours long. Being said: WE LOVE OUR COACHES!) Thirdly, I would like to thank everyone that proofed this and reminded me to not let my doubts overshadow myself. And lastly, my mom. No matter what I do in life, what sport I try, what decision I make, what career I chose, you have never once not supported me. I love you always and thank you for making me feel worth it always. You're the best 'manager' I've ever had. Thank You for Watching! Come watch or support Baker University at NAIA Nationals March 26-28th in Topeka! (They got third at their NAIA season opener!)
