APDesign Ekdahl Lecture - Carlos Jiménez

Carlos Jiménez, principal and lead designer at Carlos Jiménez Studio, will present "Reflections, and some recent works" as part of the College of Architecture, Planning & Design's, or APDesign, 2020-2021 Ekdahl Lecture Series at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7. The lecture will be presented virtually and is free and open to the public. Born in San Jose, Costa Rica, in 1959, Jiménez moved to the United States in 1974. He graduated from the University of Houston School of Architecture in 1981, receiving awards for best thesis project and best portfolio. Jiménez established his own office in Houston in 1983. He was a visiting professor at Rice University, Texas A&M University, Southern California Institute of Architecture, UCLA, University of Texas-Arlington, University of Houston, Williams College, University of Navarra, Pamplona, Spain, Harvard University Graduate School of Design, Tulane University, University of Texas-Austin, University of California-Berkeley and the University of Oregon.
