Arjun: His grandson, a skeptic who believes only in logic. Scene 1: The Courtyard (Morning) Arjun: Grandpa, why do you pray to a stone every day? If God existed, I wouldn't have lost my job yesterday. It’s all a waste of time. Grandpa: (Smiling) Son, faith isn't a vending machine where you put in a prayer and get a prize. It’s the strength to stand tall when everything else falls apart. Just have patience. Scene 2: The Same Evening (Rainy) (Arjun enters the house, soaked but looking stunned. He is holding a box of sweets.) Arjun: Grandpa, something impossible happened! I was stuck in the rain when my old boss’s car broke down right next to me. I helped him out, and he was so impressed that he offered me my job back—with a promotion. Grandpa: (Lighting a lamp) What you call a "coincidence," I call Grace. He doesn't always change the situation; sometimes, He just changes the path. Arjun: (Looking toward the altar, humbled) Maybe... "coincidence" is just His way of staying anonymous. (Arjun slowly bows his head in respect.) THE END Characters: Madhav: An elderly devotee (60s), who has unwavering faith in the Divine regardless of the circumstances. Akash: Madhav’s grandson (early 20s), modern-minded, cynical, and an atheist. SCENE 1: THE VILLAGE TEMPLE COURTYARD (MORNING) (The golden light of the morning sun hits the ancient stone temple. Madhav is lighting an oil lamp near the Tulsi plant. He looks peaceful.) MADHAV: (Whispering a prayer) "Oh Lord Jagannath, may your blessings be upon everyone..." (Akash walks in, staring at his smartphone. He looks annoyed by the ritual.) AKASH: Grandfather! You’re still stuck in these old traditions? The world has reached the moon, and you’re still bowing down to a stone idol. If God really existed, our village wouldn't be in this poor condition. MADHAV: (Smiling gently) My dear Akash, God isn't just in the stone; He resides in our faith. The day you learn to believe, you will feel His presence everywhere. AKASH: (Scoffing) Faith is just a word people use when they don't have a logical explanation. I believe in what I can see. SCENE 2: A LONELY STRETCH OF ROAD (EVENING) (It is pouring rain. Akash is on his motorcycle, heading toward the city. Suddenly, the engine sputters and dies. He is stranded in a desolate area with no houses in sight.) AKASH: (Frustrated, kicking the tire) Damn it! Not now! No network, no lights, and this rain is getting worse. Is there nobody out here? (He looks around, shivering. Out of the darkness, an old man carrying a large umbrella walks toward him.) STRANGER: What happened, son? You look troubled. AKASH: My bike broke down. I’m stuck here in the middle of nowhere and I don’t know how to get to the city in this storm. STRANGER: Don’t worry. There is a small mechanic's shed just a few meters behind that curve. I’ll walk you there. The Almighty always provides a way when we feel lost. SCENE 3: THE TEMPLE PORCH (NIGHT) (The rain has stopped. Akash returns home, looking thoughtful. He sees Madhav sitting in the same spot, radiating calm.) AKASH: Grandfather... something strange happened today. When I had lost all hope and was stranded in the dark, a stranger appeared out of nowhere to help me. I don’t know who he was, but his words... they reminded me of you. MADHAV: (Looking up) My son, the Divine doesn't always appear in a crown and silk robes. He comes through people, through timing, and through kindness. What you call a "coincidence" is actually His grace. AKASH: (Looking at the temple, humbled) I think I understand now. Science gives us tools to live, but faith gives us the strength to keep going. (Akash slowly walks toward the temple and bows his head. The sound of a distant temple bell rings out.) --- THE END ---
