This prevents chances of subinitimal entry and the ability to find true channel. The causes of ISR are many- 1. Uncorrected Risk Factors like DM, HTN, Hypothyroidism, Cancer etc. 2. Drug Non-Compliance 3. Smoking, Tobacco, Alcohol, Pan Masala etc. 4. Constant Stress 5. Stent underexpansion, or even allergy to stent components (can only be judged after deploying stent usually) One has to be wary to correct all these factors to prevent ISR. In this case we had Smoking and drug compliance as the causative factors.
