After 20 years of thinking about it, I finally take the plunge and tear into this old GE clock radio. It's not rare, it's not sought-after, it's not particularly well-built, but I've always liked it, so don't tell me what to do. Besides, who can resist the white-knuckle experience of listening to NPR through a 1 watt amplifier? The plan is to do a 100% perfect restoration, just to test my limitations and abilities.
