The Centre for Comparative Corporate Finance Law (C3FL) of the University of Vienna organized a conference titled 'Boards Inc. - Legal Persons as Directors and Officers', which took place in Vienna on December 11. 2025. The C3FL was delighted to welcome numerous renowned and distinguished legal scholars to this conference, all of whom contributed insightful and thought-provoking presentations on the subject. The event undertook a critical assessment of the question whether company law should allow legal persons to act as directors and officers of a company. It brought together comparative, economic, and historical perspectives from multiple jurisdictions to discuss existing regulatory models and their implications for potential reforms. This is a recording of the welcome addresses by Brigitta Zöchling Jud, the Dean of the Faculty of Law of the University of Vienna and Chris Thomale, Professor of International and Commercial Business Law at the University of Vienna.
