I picked up a $250 rooftop cargo carrier for $50! It had cracks where all 4 brackets attach the carrier to the roof rack. With a couple bucks of fiberglassing material, it is stronger than ever! Here's what we used to repair the rooftop cargo carrier: When you fiberglass something, you need fabric, specifically used for 'fiberglassing,' epoxy, and hardener. You can find the fabric for fiberglass I used here: https://amzn.to/3oK1CyJ The Epoxy I used is made by West Systems, 105 is the epoxy and 206 is the hardener (link is a kit): https://amzn.to/3oKcwVy I also recommend having some nitrile gloves, stirring sticks, and a bucket that is disposable. Nitrile gloves: https://amzn.to/3fdhbvI Stirring Sticks: https://amzn.to/3yxIHM6 Disposable Buckets for epoxy: https://amzn.to/3hNiiUT Sandpaper: https://amzn.to/3ww10zo With all your gear in tow, you're now able to fiberglass pretty much anything. You can hobby yourself right up to making a fiberglass boat, go-cart or whatever you want...just be careful! This stuff, once it sticks, it's there forever!
