A lot of rough parts in the run. Improvised Pacifist Anubis kill. Thanks to BlueRed for the Olmec UFO optimization: • Spelunky 2 - No Gold Pacifist Chain Low% E... The Pacifist condition is an official modifier defined by the game and can be checked at the end of the run in the Journal with the line "I was a Pacifist." If you're wondering how each boss and miniboss is "killed" in a Pacifist manner, there is more explanation much further down in the description. A summary of what No Gold Pacifist Chain Low% Eggplant Duat (NGPCLED) means: You must complete Sunken City having never collected gold, having never killed anything, having obtained the Eggplant Crown, having visited Duat, and having never used any items. The only resources at your disposal are your starting 4 health (plus the health you get back when you revive with Ankh), your starting 4 bombs, and your starting 4 ropes. Using "environmental items" like rocks, landmines, skulls, arrows, etc... is allowed. Picking up any items and resources is also forbidden, regardless of if it actually helps you. For example, collecting a skeleton key would still be forbidden even if I did not use it. Lastly, "Chain" means that you are allowed to collect the so-called chain items i.e. the items that are "intended" to be used to get to Sunken City (Udjat Eye, Crown/Hedjet, Ankh, Excalibur/Scepter, Tablet of Destiny, Qilin). The most difficult part of this run is the Pacifist (no kills) restriction. Pacifist rules are defined by the game, but since they can be unintuitive, I have a pink Pacifist tracker in the bottom corner that checks to make sure my run is still Pacifist. You can view the official NGPCLED rules on Mossranking here: https://mossranking.com/cat.php?cat=425 If you want a quick explanation about how each boss and miniboss is "killed" in a way that the game considers Pacifist: Olmec: Killed by dropping him in lava. The game does not count Olmec as a Pacifist violation, regardless of how he is killed. Anubis: There are several ways to kill Anubis in a Pacifist manner. In this run, I get Anubis down to 1 health, and then I have a cobra poison him. The poison deals the final damage to Anubis, so it is Pacifist. Anubis II: You can lure him into the path of Apep, who will kill Anubis II for you. Osiris: I utilize the game's system of "ownership" to kill Osiris in a way that is Pacifist. The game has a weird system of tracing things back to you which allows you to manipulate it if you know the rules (I will simplify a bit). First, I get Osiris down to 1 health by jumping on his fist and whipping him. Then, I get hit by his face intentionally (which doesn't do damage btw). Getting hit by an enemy is important to transfer ownership. Once this transaction is done, I will be free from any blame for a little the next time that I am unconscious and in the air. This is important because I can actually intentionally go unconscious by getting stunned on the Duat wall. Standing close to the Duat wall, I wait for Osiris to get in range so that I can throw something at him to do the final hit and then run into the Duat wall to get stunned. Since I am unconscious at the same time Osiris is killed, and I did the ownership transfer, it is Pacifist. Eggplant King: You can get the Eggplant Child to pick something up. Then, stand on Eggplant King's shoulder and drop the Eggplant Child who will then drop what he is holding and kill the Eggplant King. Since the Eggplant Child is the one who dropped the item that killed Eggplant King and because he landed on the ground before Eggplant King died, it is Pacifist. Hundun: Utilizing Hundun's weird behavior, you can actually get Chicken Head to kill Snake Head for you. Once that is done, you can throw a poison arrow at Chicken Head and wait for the poison to kill him because poison kills are not blamed on the player.
