The Burning Bike is an annual event held during Bike Week in Daytona Beach, Florida, at the Volusia County Fairgrounds. It began in 2015 as a unique way to honor loved ones who have passed away, created by Troy Rentz of Fastlane Promotions, the owners of the Fastlane Campground and Motorcycle Swap meet Yahoo. Rentz wanted to give people a special, memorable way to commemorate someone’s life, and the idea quickly became a signature part of Bike Week. The event features a 75-foot-tall, 35-foot-wide wooden motorcycle sculpture made entirely of reclaimed wood Fastlane Campground. Throughout Bike Week, attendees can sign or write messages on the bike, often in memory of friends, family, or pets Yahoo. On the final night, the bike is set ablaze.
