The planet came with its usual charm: blizzards cutting mobility and visibility, extreme cold slowing rate of fire and delaying heat buildup, and High Command running live field tests with an experimental Orbital 120mm HE Barrage and an experimental Incendiary Gatling Barrage. Because apparently the weather wasn’t dangerous enough. I ran the AR-2 Coyote, wearing the CW-22 Kodiak heavy set for its 50% resistance to explosive damage—a requirement when rockets start threading through whiteout conditions. With Orbital Fluctuations increasing stratagem cooldowns by 25% and Complex Stratagem Plotting stretching call-in times by 50%, we had to be smart with every drop. Since this was a defense mission, I leaned fully into fortifications: the A/MG-43 Machine Gun Sentry, A/MLS-4X Rocket Sentry, A/M-12 Mortar Sentry, and the E/AT-12 Anti-Tank Emplacement. No roaming, no sightseeing—just hold position, shred dropships, and erase anything that hits the ground until the quota is met. We kept it to three Helldivers, because we could handle it. I did side-eye one diver’s stratagem choices early on—small area, lots of explosive potential, and I wasn’t in the mood for “accidental” democracy. He assured us he knew what he was doing. Spoiler: he did. Right up until the end, when he managed to team kill another diver at the worst possible moment—no clones available, meaning that Helldiver was doomed to be left behind. Other than that charming bit of confidence, the mission went well. We shot down dropships, blew up bots, met our quota, and only used a few clones overall—just one by me. Extraction was successful for those of us still breathing, and we moved on to the next fight. This video was recorded on a dedicated PC using a capture card, played in 4K with all settings on Ultra on the RTX 5090 and i7-14700K, with MSI Afterburner monitoring performance.
