Take the ferry to Hvar Island, Croatia!

We day trip to Hvar Town to enjoy this peaceful island and some old world hospitality. We take a comfortable ferry to the island of Hvar, not too far from Split, Croatia. He explore Hvar Town (other ferry's go to Stari Grad, the oldest settlement in Croatia). We are here off-season in November, and most places are closed for the season--but at least the town is not busy. In high season, this sleepy village becomes quite the late-night party spot. We don't get the wine tours that we expected, but there's still lots to see. We walk up to the hilltop fortress (Fortica or Tvrdava) for views over Hvar Town. We have an amazing charcuterie lunch at Gurme Restaurant and Tapas Bar--and a shout-out to the most hospitable restaurant owner, who catered to these hungry tourists at last minute (and even though he wasn't actually open for business)! Back in Split, we have the best pizza of our whole trip to the region, at Sette Sorelle Restaurant. Who are we? Thanks for asking! We are Chew On This Travel. Join us, a husband and wife team.
