Une Parisienne was published November 26, 1934. The English title is A Parisian Lady. The "official" edition size was 150. The catalog raisonné by Richard Miles specifies "fewer than 75 completed including proofs". Carver was Yamagishi, the printer was Urushibara. Richard Miles comments about this print: "This print is one of the rarest and most remarkable of pre-war works. Only 'Lady in Red' (No. 20) and 'Miss Eliana' (No. 21) are comparable in depicting Westerners. The model was not French at all, but the daughter of a representative of a Hollywood motion picture studio who posed in the furs and veil of the artist's mother. Note the 'gauffrage' representing the veil, which Jacoulet regarded as the most extraordinary 'tour de force' of carving he had ever seen. "You," he told Yamagishi, "are a genius." The balance of delicacy and boldness in this print make it not only the greatest of the Jacoulet-Yamagishi collaborations, but one of the finest prints in the decade."
