Acting Shadow Home Affairs Minister James Paterson claims it’s “causing incredible distress” for the resettlers who thought they were in a safe country, but now may be “living alongside their torturers and jailers”. The Australian Federal Police are investigating the return of ISIS brides from Syria after it was confirmed that two women and four children had fled an ISIS camp and returned to Australia. “Nothing could be further from the truth than the government being transparent,” Mr Paterson told Sky News Australia. “It is extraordinary that it has taken as long as it has to just get some basic facts out of officials in this process.”
