Their Deepest Switch Yet...The HMX Canglan V3 Linear Switch Review!

Were using the much love Polygon 7 from ‪@daringrun‬ Be on the look out for the next drop coming sometime this month! Many thanks to ‪@UnikeysOfficial‬ for sending these switches out for review. Introducing HMX's first sphere stem tip, being the Canglan V3 Linears! These switches are not a recoloration of the V2s as these come with a new mold as well as the sphere stem tips. I gotta say these are some of the DEEPEST switches that ive tried to date from HMX. Let's break things down! Cost: I keep mentioning it, and i will continue to do so. The cost of switches that we are getting now a days is mind blowing. Each pack of these bad boys come with 10 switches, with each pack consisting of $3.50. That is .35 cents a switch... Which can build a board anywhere from a 60% to a TKL in roughly $22-$29. Really tough to beat these pricings now a days! Feel: These switches are extremely smooth to say the least. The Sphere Stem tip offers a softer bottom out, while the springs make these switches an ideal weight for me. Coming in at a 42g operating force and a 50g bottom out force, I find these switches to be extremely comfortable to type on extended periods of time for, while the new mold may not feel the firmest when mounted, they definitely offer an extremely smoothness when pressing each key down. Sound: When they mentioned the sphere stem tip will achieve a deep and thocky sound profile, i didn't think they would mean this deep! The Canglan V3's offer a refreshing change in sound coming much deeper and at lower pitch/sound frequency than most HMX Switches. Comparing them to some of the other deeper sounding HMX switches I currently have, I still think these have got to be the deepest sounding by far. Each switch received in the batch was factory lubed exceptionally well with no unwanted sounds such as spring pinging, or leaf ticking when using/ testing these switches. Aesthetics- These switches definitely give me a wolf vibe with the multiple shades of grey being used on the top/bottom housing and on the stems themselves. The colors compliment each other well and keeps things clean when building with these switches. While others may not mind what colors the switches may be as we see little to no parts of the switch when fully assembled inside of boards, some may find it complimenting when going for an all grey/silver build theme. YG studio engraving adds a simplistic and minimalistic view of these switches. In conclusions, i would definitely pick up some of the Canglan V3 if your a fan of the deeper, and thockier sound profiles. When testing these switches on Polypropylene, I found them to pair quite well and i would expect the same on plates like Polycarbonate, and Pom. While they can sound good in other plates, i feel the softness on plates such as Polycarbonate, Polypropylene, and Pom will help bring out the deeper sound frequencies that these switches have to offer. While i have been loving the higher pitch and clackier sounds other HMX switches offer, it's always refreshing to see them step back and switch things up with things like the HMX Sonja's catering towards those who enjoy that scratchiness, and now with the HMX Canglan v3's that carter towards those who might enjoy a deeper and thockier sound profile.
