The Ada County Sheriff’s Office is Idaho’s largest local law enforcement agency, with more than 850 employees spanning five different bureaus. The Administrative Service Bureau processes and stores evidence, compiles and analyzes data, issues driver’s licenses and concealed weapons permits, manages the agency’s budget, provides customer service, maintains and services the agency’s vehicle fleet, and more. The Court Services Bureau maintains security around the Ada County Courthouse and within the courtroom, manages the Community Transition Center, transports inmates to doctor visits and court hearings, serves civil documents, supervises participants in pretrial and misdemeanor probation, offers alternative sentencing options, and more. Dispatch is part of the Emergency Communications Bureau. The ECB is supported by a team of specialists who ensure the agency’s communication channels are operational, our maps are accessible, our projects are forward-thinking and our handheld radios are functional.  The Jail Services Bureau is responsible for the safety and security of inmates. It monitors security via camera feed throughout the facility, produces several thousand meals a day, and maintains the well-being of inmates through our Health Services Unit. The Police Services Bureau is responsible for conducting criminal investigations, providing security and support in schools, patrolling county waterways, enforcing code violations, providing resources through crisis intervention, conducting crime scene investigation, testing evidence, and more.
