Time's a busy lover Time passes so quickly. I can hardly believe I'm alive, and already it’s heading to the box with the worms. Everything has always been here and will remain when I am no longer. We sing the songs from back then and have no idea what they’re actually about until the melodies fade, and the silence makes our ears bleed. We’ve been trying to live someone else’s life all along. Not ours, no, never. We’ve been listening to foreign voices the whole time, but not our own. We’ve been looking into the faces of others and can’t recognize ourselves. We think we know the world out there and get lost in the world in here. I close the book, turn off the radio, throw the TV out the window, and set the mailbox on fire. Time sweeps me away like a speeding carousel, and I’m afraid it will throw me off at a point where it would be so pointless to leave. But then again, where is the meaning now? Who remembers me? Who knows who I am? Who will remember me when I’m gone? Everything around me is just a ridiculous set piece. It feels like nothing, not even the pain is real. Where is my body? Where is the mind? Where is the footboard? Where is the path?
