Syrian Women's Lives in Jordan: Halaa Works in Bars at Night

Halaa, 24, has left Damascus for Amman at the beginning of the uprisings. In Jordan, she hoped to find a job in order to support her ill mother and her son who stayed in Syria. Halaa who was working in the Syrian administration tried to apply for different positions in the administration and banks in Jordan. Yet, Halaa, like thousands of Syrians who have escaped the war, has no work permit. Therefore, she has been turned away by all employers.
