Hello again, its me, Ben Whitehead, a Junior here at Trinity University. In my previous video, I gave you the inside scoop on academics, faculty and facilities. And while those are certainly important aspects of a university that greatly impact your decision making, you also want college to be fun. If you're like me, you are feeling excited to leave the nest, but admittedly a little nervous about charging into the unknown. Here at Trinity, we have a vibrant, residential community with amazing dorms, co-curriculum opportunities, and a connection to San Antonio that makes the Trinity experience lively and unique. Let's talk dorms. Unlike many other universities, Trinity has spacious dorms that are suite style so you aren't lugging your shampoo down the hall to take a shower. We all have private balconies that allow us to cheer on football games, overlook the city skyline, and relax with friends. We also have a variety of communities that exist, or that students can start. For me, I am part of HOPE hall. When I am not going to class, or playing basketball with professors, I am taking pictures and writing articles for the University newspaper, the Trinitonian. It is definitely easy to find engaging photos for our paper because Trinity students don't like to sit still. Our fraternities and sororities are creating campus-wide events, our intramural or collegiate athletics' teams are playing a game, or students are participating in one of our beloved traditions like throwing their friend into the fountain on their birthday. Unfortunately, my birthday is in September so I was placed gracefully into the fountain, but its ok. The water is warm-ish. Another thing you may or may not know about Trinity, is the campus sits on a hill. This allows us to overlook the skyline of San Antonio. We are considered urban because of proximity, but we have our own campus so your economics and history classes won't be woven between a McDonalds. And, speaking of food. We have some great dining facilities. We have dining on both upper and lower campus. On lower campus, it is all you care to eat, which personally I like. We have vegetarian stations, pizza, bbq, sandwiches, and more. On upper campus we have a coffee shop, Einsteins bagels, sandwiches and my favorite Taco Taco. This place is just one of the ways we are connected to the community. Taco Taco was voted some of the best Mexican food in the city. I hope this insight gave you a solid look into life at Trinity from our dining, dorms, and campus life culture. And remember, you can find out even more about Trinity University at trinity.edu. Or, hear from some of our alumni on our LinkedIn page. Best of luck in finding the college for you. Trinity was meant for me and I hope to see you on a campus.
