Ataxia Subreddit: / ataxia About the Speaker- Speaker: Kristin Barañano, MD, PhD Institution: Johns Hopkins School of Medicine Bio: Kristin Barañano, MD, PhD earned her degrees from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, where she also completed residencies in pediatrics and neurology, along with a fellowship in neurogenetics at the Kennedy Krieger Institute. Dr. Barañano is an assistant professor in the Johns Hopkins Division of Pediatric Neurology, where she specializes in the genetic basis of neurological illnesses. She has a particular interest in understanding the genetic control of the development of the cerebellum, and her clinical interests include childhood-onset and inherited ataxias. She has been a part of the Johns Hopkins Ataxia Center since 2013 and recently established a multidisciplinary pediatric ataxia and cerebellar disorders clinic at Kennedy Krieger.
