We are excited to launch our Campus Food Series with a food tour at Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi. This episode explores what students, doctors, and visitors eat at the campus, from canteen staples to popular food joints around the area. Our first stop was Shyamlal ji’s matar kulcha stall, a favorite among students for being easy on the pocket, filling, and convenient. During lunchtime, the stall often has a huge waiting line, and even doctors occasionally indulge in this treat. Next, we visited the OBH canteen, where a regular meal costs just fifty rupees, offering generous portions. On some days, they serve special delicacies, and we were lucky to try their flavorful chicken biryani. Afterward, we headed to a bustling food stall serving crispy patties—a classic college staple. Its taste, convenience, and price make it a go-to snack for many. From there, we stopped at FuelZap for their pocket-friendly oregano burger. The taste was decent, and it’s definitely a steal deal for quick hunger pangs. On our way to the next stop, we couldn’t resist trying chana dal chikki from a nearby fruit stall—it was a nostalgic and delightful treat. At AS Khan stall, we enjoyed a creamy butter coffee. Their eclectic youth-centric menu was pretty impressive. The butter coffee was quite a treat. We then visited Cake O’ Clock, where students often buy cakes for birthday celebrations late into the night. Here, we tried their loaded French fries, which were indulgent and satisfying. We ended our food tour with some delicious chole samose at the common canteen, a perfect conclusion to the journey. This visit gave us a glimpse into the strenuous yet vibrant lives of budding doctors and medical professionals.
