40 Years of Excellence: Mosi-Oa-Tunya High School's Journey Mosi-Oa-Tunya High School, located in Victoria Falls, Matabeleland North Province, was established in 1982 as Chinotimba Upper-Top at Chinotimba Primary School before relocating to its current site three years later. With an enrollment of over 1,400 learners and 65 teachers, the school boasts one of the highest student populations in Matabeleland North. Mr. Roland Sibanda has been the headmaster since 2013 and officially took over as substantive Headmaster in 2016. Joining the school in 1999 as a Geography and Ndebele teacher, he progressed through the ranks: Head of Department for Geography and Ndebele, and HOD Guidance and Counselling department Senior Master (2007-2010) Deputy Headmaster (2010-2013) Under his leadership, Mr. Sibanda emphasizes teamwork, engaging administrators, teachers, parents, and learners in decision-making processes. The school has achieved notable success: Steady increase in Ordinary Level pass rates Advanced Level results improved from 66% in 2008 to 82% in recent years Excellence in sports, including athletics, soccer, basketball, netball, volleyball, rugby, cricket, and handball Mr. Sibanda also contributes to the community as a patron for various HIV/AIDS clubs in Victoria Falls and chairs the Hwange district National Association of Secondary School Heads (Nash).
