Today's solo wild camp was in the Peak District - Bleaklow The second Video is here! This weekend I ventured into the peak district for a chilly solo camp. I was expecting the weather to be around -5c. The temperature dropped to around -8c at night and with 30mph gusts the wind chill was around -17c! This was a great test for my gear as well as a good learning experience in warmth management. On some trips you can not just take the essentials, it is better to have and to not need than need and not have. Despite only being in the midland UK, the possibility of frostbite or worse was very real. Thankfully, after the long cold night passed I was treated to the most incredible sunrise I have ever seen. I was lucky enough to have the perfect view as I did not camp where I initially planned.
