The 69,900 square foot multi-service center is a first of its kind. Fully equipped with state-of-the-art technology, the multi-plex recreational facility houses four departments delivering health-related services, library, parks and recreations, property, and security management services for the citizens of Houston. The department and summary of these services are listed below General Services Department – Property, Security and Real Estate Management Services Houston Health Department – Various health-related programs, including but not limited to; Women’s, Infants, and Children (WIC) clinic, the Harris County Area Agency on Aging, Houston Health Department's Diabetes Awareness and Wellness Network Houston Public Library – Various library programs and services including, but not limited to: classes, events, computers, books, electronic resources, plus a TECHLink technology center, and passport services! Houston Parks and Recreation – Various sports programming, including but not limited to; recreational programs, greenspace management Alief Neighborhood Community Center and Park INDOOR AREAS ONLY (COMMON SPACES) Common areas of Alief Community Center are scheduled via the Houston Public Library - Rooms 1509, 1511 and 1512: Mon - Fri, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Sat, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. (summer months) OUTDOOR AREAS ONLY Alief Neighborhood Park is currently accepting reservation requests for small private events for up to 25 guests. Currently, only Departmental Community events are being considered. City-wide and neighborhood festivals, dedications, inaugurations, parades, tree plantings, fun runs, groundbreakings, and community/neighborhood events or holiday celebrations will require a Special Event Permit from the Mayor’s Office of Special Events.
