Kami & Her Kittens Share A Meal

A few days ago we noticed that Fuji wasn't developing as quickly as his siblings, he was acting quite lethargic and withdrawn while the rest were full of energy and fighting and playing up a storm. We started pulling Fuji out of the pen on his own for some solo feedings with his mum Kami and we started him on solid food which seemed to perk him up quite a bit but still his energy levels weren't great and he needed to sleep a lot more than the other kittens so we've been giving him lots of solo naps on us too. A couple of days ago after conferring with VOKRA we decided to take Fuji into the vet and here's the upshot: Fuji's heart sounds good and his temperature is normal and we have started him on a special diet and deworming medication earlier than the other kittens in the hope that that is the problem. The kittens are six weeks old today but Fuji is acting like he is about 2 weeks behind the rest as his walking is a bit unsteady and his peripheral vision is not great. If the deworming and special diet don't work then the vet says we will have to look into whether it's something neurological but we really hope we don't have to go there. Fuji is still getting around well when he wants to, plays a little bit with his siblings and grooms and eats well and is of course loving all of the extra attention we are giving him and we will keep you all posted on his progress.
