O acesso ao chamado “metaverso”, através de capacetes de realidade aumentada ligados à internet, pode ajudar o cirurgião, durante as cirurgias da mama, a localizar o tumor sobrepondo virtualmente imagens médicas do doente ao corpo físico deitado na maca, explica neste vídeo Pedro Gouveia, cirurgião da Unidade de Mama da Fundação Champalimaud. Nesta perspectiva, a Unidade já está a construir um laboratório de cirurgia digital, onde a inteligência artificial e a visão por computador se irão combinar para dar origem ao futuro da cirurgia do cancro da mama.
