Bathroom Extractor Fan install using rigid plastic duct

In this video I show how I installed a 100 cfm bathroom extractor fan using 4" PVC rigid duct. I chose rigid PVC duct as it has a smooth interior surface unlike the regular flexible ducts. A smooth interior means better air flow which maximizes the effectiveness of the fan to move air out of the bathroom. I show how I ran the duct in the attic and explain how I positioned and cut a hole through the stucco to the exterior for the vent. Disclaimer: check your local building codes, or call a licensed contractor to be sure that installing this type of duct is acceptable in your area. NOTE: as discussed in the comments this is designed for new installation where siding is fitted over the flange after installing the vent. I was able to use it as retro-fit due to the thin (1" thickness) of my existing 1970s stucco. For a retro-fit you may need to go with another style vent if your wall is more than about 1" thick.
