Proposed Victora Park stadium an ‘absolute win’ for southeast Queensland

Former Olympic swimmer Cate Campbell discusses the newly proposed stadium at Victoria Park for the 2032 Olympic Games. “I think that it is something that Queensland will need not just in Brisbane 2032, but in 2042, 2052, it’s centralised, it’s in the city,” Ms Campbell told Sky News Australia. “It is just an absolute win for southeast Queensland. “It’s going to be very manicured, it’s going to be easy walking, and we know that we actually want to get people walking, we want to get them moving, we want to be able to create spaces where they can congregate. “It’s roughly estimated that 27 per cent of games will be held away from the southeast Queensland region … it takes the sport to the state, it takes it to the regions who may not be able to get into a big city that is travel prohibitive or cost prohibitive.”
