Kyusendo, a limestone cave located in Kuma Village, Kuma District, which was damaged by heavy rain in July 2020, has reopened for the first time in about 1 year and 9 months. Kyusendo Cave, discovered by the Ehime University Academic Exploration Department in 1972, is estimated to have been formed approximately 300 million years ago when a limestone layer on the ocean floor rose up. The total length is approximately 4,800m, making it the longest in Kyushu.
