Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) is a key technology for reducing carbon emissions and supporting long-term sustainability. The success of CCUS projects depends on accurate numerical reservoir simulation to understand CO₂ injection behavior, migration, storage mechanisms, and long-term reservoir performance. This webinar will bring together industry experts to discuss the integration of advanced simulation technologies across the CCUS project lifecycle, from pre-injection planning and risk assessment to injection operations and post-injection monitoring. The session will highlight key physical, thermodynamic, geochemical, and geomechanical principles involved in reliable CO₂ storage modeling, along with current challenges and future opportunities in CCUS. Participants will gain technical insights into: • Fundamentals of the CCUS process and its global importance • Role of reservoir simulation in CCUS project planning and risk assessment • Modeling of CO₂ injection, migration, and storage mechanisms • Optimization of CCUS operations using advanced simulation technologies • Future trends in CCUS and simulation-driven integration Speakers: Dr. Vijay Shrivastava Principal Engineer, Compositional Simulation, Computer Modelling Group (CMG), Calgary Dr. Shrivastava has led the development of CO₂ storage simulation technologies at CMG since 2003. An SPE Distinguished Member, he is a registered Professional Engineer in Alberta, Canada, with expertise in advanced CO₂ storage and reservoir simulation workflows. Mr. Rahul Jain Vice President and General Manager, Computer Modelling Group (CMG), Bangalore Designed for students, researchers, and energy professionals, this webinar offers a comprehensive understanding of how simulation technologies are shaping the future of CCUS and sustainable carbon management.
