Man Shot After Lunging At Officer With Scissors In San Francisco

(Disclaimer: The content in this video is intended for educational and informational purposes only) San Francisco, California — On September 4, 2025, at approximately 11:19 a.m., San Francisco Police officers were in the area of northbound Hwy 101 near Cesar Chavez Street assisting San Francisco Sheriff Deputies regarding a male subject walking on the freeway. While on scene, SFPD made contact with the subject, identified as 40-year-old Juan Antonio Serrato, near the Caesar Chavez off-ramp. During the encounter, Serrato produced an edged weapon (scissors) , and an officer-involved shooting occurred. One SFPD officer was involved. Officers on scene rendered aid, and paramedics transported Serrato to a local hospital. Serrato is now stable, and recovering at San Francisco General Hospital.
