Since the start of the band at the beginning of September 2017, the five-piece group has already played several dozens of gigs. Atmospheric clean guitars and hard riffs as well as the change of clean vocals and screams combine to a unique sound. A wide repertoire of songs is available for the sophisticated live performance. To enhance their musical portfolio they release their very first acoustic song "Lost With You" in July 2019 which has a singer-songerwriter vibe to it. “Lost With You" is followed during later 2019 by the songs "Decay" and “Decisions”, recorded in a professional manner at Mega Blaster Recordings (Timo Bonner/Our Mirage). In early 2020 Maelføy played a DIY tour of 12 cities in northern Germany and beyond together with their befriended band Artemis Rising. It is followed by the single "Fading Hope", which is recorded as a great success. A lot of positive feedback, more than 50k streams on Spotify within its first 6 months of existence and a lot of hard work on “Fading Hope” pave the way for the next single "Sleepless" in June 2020, which will bring new music and attention even in the time of Corona with many cancelled concerts. The next single “Everything” was released in in fall 2020 via the renowned and very relevant YouTube channel DREAMBOUND and reaches 100.000 streams on Spotify during the summer of 2021. “Everything” is followed by the single "Emptiness Inside", which was placed in the Spotify editorial playlist "New Metal Tracks" (over 500k followers) and represents one of the highlights of the young band's career so far.
