Today’s Gospel brings us one of Jesus’ strongest and most transformative statements: “I am the light of the world.” But what’s new here that moves us deeply? It’s the direct confrontation between the light of truth and the darkness of appearances. Jesus isn’t just talking about faith—he’s revealing to us that without Him, we are lost, even if we appear to be doing well. Today, we live in an era of filters, masks, and distorted truths. And Jesus challenges us: Do you want to continue judging by appearances or do you want to live in the light that reveals what really matters? The new thing is that this light is not distant—it is available now. If we accept it, it heals, transforms, and directs. This word helps us break through the inner darkness that paralyzes us, opening the way for a more authentic and purposeful life. DO YOU NEED TO OVERCOME ANXIETY? At that time, 12Jesus said to the Pharisees: “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” 13Then the Pharisees said to them, “Your testimony is not true, because you are testifying about yourself.” 14Jesus answered them, “Even if I testify about myself, my testimony is true, because I know where I came from and where I am going. But you do not know where I came from or where I am going. 15You judge according to the flesh; I judge no one. 16And if I judge, my judgment is true, because I am not alone, but the Father who sent me is with me. 17It is written in your law that the testimony of two is true. 18Now I testify about myself, and the Father who sent me testifies about me.” 19Then they asked them, “Where is your Father?” Jesus answered them, “You know neither me nor my Father. If you knew me, you would know my Father also.” 20Jesus said these things as he was teaching in the temple courts near the treasury. And no one arrested him, because his hour had not yet come. – Word of salvation.
