Looks like "the lightning" can't do much against sticks and stones after all. Well, sticks, stones, and ropes. Nothing new or special here, but I figured I'd show that even the final boss on Ultra Hard can't do much of anything against the best farming techniques. I'm honestly sort of surprised they didn't bother to make the game's final boss at least immune to the Ropecaster. Unfortunately I think this speaks to one of the big problems in this game. If you can farm Apex Slaughterspine Hearts, then you're already so powerful and expert at the game there's absolutely no reason to level any of your gear. All in all, the Horizon endgame content is just a big old mess. If you've been watching many of my videos you've probably seen me complain about this game a lot, and wonder why I've played it for so long. Well, in spite of everything, combat in Horizon: Forbidden West (after you reach midgame and get enough gear and skill points to start unlocking techniques) is still really excellent. The farming is unbalanced and there's too much of it, but for the first several hours I actually enjoyed the excuse to go encounter all of the game's machines and learn things about them. The game just needs a lot of fat trimmed. It's a roughly 200 hour experience to 100%, and definitely should have been trimmed down to a lean 70 hours. If that had happened, I dare say it would have been nearly as good as Horizon: Zero Dawn. As things stand it's a bloated mess, but there's a good 50 hours of amazing content in here if you're willing to go digging it out.
