This webinar is delivered as a collaboration between Patient Safety Together (PST) and the HSE SPARK Innovation Programme. Presenters include:, Dr Eve Stanley, Carolina Skemas, Catherine Hogan, Lorraine Schwanberg. Using examples from Irish healthcare, the speakers outline how they have adopted a human-centred, service design approach grounded in empathy and the power of prototyping to co-design and co-develop with services and patient/service user partners. The speakers discuss the lived experiences of how their work is positively impacting those who both use and work in our health services. The session is also an opportunity for participants to understand how to apply design tools in developing potential solutions that are relevant and sustainable from a user’s perspective. In this way, the webinar encourages the audience to develop a deeper appreciation of understanding the healthcare problems they encounter, with the aim that they leave inspired to dive deeper into the human centered design approach for problem solving. Finally, this webinar shares the insight gathered as a result of the collaboration between Patient Safety Together (PST) of the Quality Patient Safety & Incident Management (QPSIM) Team, National Quality and Patient Safety (NQPS) and the HSE SPARK Innovation Programme. It highlights how Patient Safety Together and HSE Spark collaborate and engage with stakeholders using system learning and exploring the redesign approach.
