The I-59/20 Rebuild is Completed! | Life In Bama

On this Life In Bama we are oh so happy that the rebuild of I-59/20 is complete. There was a great deal of discussion before this interstate was rebuilt about not rebuilding it and turning it into a park, building an underground tunnel for it and moving the road North out of downtown. After so many years of talk, talk, talk something had to be done because the road was in really bad shape. It was carrying modern day traffic and when I was stuck in traffic on it I would pray it wouldn't collapse. Also, there is the history of segregation involved as to why the interstates in Bham were built in the places where they are but that is another story.
