Welcome to magical Treberfydd House which has been in the Raikes family for 175 years and is now owned by Sally and her husband Hugh. Treberfydd, situated in Wales’ glorious Brecon Beacons National Park, was built by Sally’s great-great-great-Grandfather Robert Raikes, grandson of another Robert who was a successful banker and well-known as a leading Tractarian Christian. However, a few years after completing the house the family fell on hard times and were forced to put the house up for sale; with no suitable buyers in sight the house was then let for fifteen years after which it returned to the family, so was narrowly saved from being lost. Sally and Hugh guide us through rooms of this Victorian neo-Gothic splendour and reveal some of its glorious history.
