It is a beautifully illustrated selection of memorable stories that show the value of teamwork, compassion, problem solving, and doing the right thing. Each Daniel Tiger read aloud story is around 5 minutes long, so stay for them all, or listen to your favorites over and over! Join Daniel Tiger, Mom and Dad Tiger, Miss Elaina, O the Owl, Katerina Kittycat, and Prince Wednesday as they learn and play in this collection of Daniel Tiger read aloud stories! In "Daniel's First Babysitter", when Daniel's parents go out, Prince Tuesday babysits. Daniel misses his parents but learns they will always come back. With Prince Tuesday's help, he finds his lost stuffed animal, Tigey, before his parents return. In "Daniel has an Allergy", after trying a peach, Daniel Tiger discovers he has an allergy. He learns how to manage it with help from his dad and Doctor Anna. In "Daniel's Potty Time", despite being excited to go to the market, Daniel insists he doesn't need to use the potty. He learns it's important to try to go before leaving the house. The episode encourages kids to "sit and try to go." In "Daniel Learns to Ride a Bike", Daniel is excited to get a new bike from his dad. He quickly learns that riding it is harder than it looks, but with encouragement, he keeps trying. The episode's key message is "Keep on trying, and you'll feel proud!" In "Mama Travels for Work", Daniel helps his neighbor, Jodi Platypus, who is sad because her mom is traveling for work. He reminds her with a song that grown-ups always come back. In "No Red Sweater for Daniel", Daniel's red sweater is in the wash, so he wears a blue one. He worries that he looks different, but his mom and neighbors assure him that "you can change your hair or what you wear, but no matter what you do, you're still you." In "Daniel Chooses to be Kind," King Friday makes Daniel king for the day and gives him a list of royal duties. The most important duty, however, is to be kind. Daniel finds ways to be kind to his friends and neighbors, even if it means he doesn't complete all of the tasks on his list. King Friday is proud of Daniel for choosing kindness, and the key message of the episode is "You can choose to be kind." In "Daniel Plays in the Snow," it's snowing and Daniel is excited to play outside with Miss Elaina. He initially resists wearing his hat and mittens, but quickly realizes he is too cold to have fun. With his mom's help, he puts on the right clothes and learns that being dressed for the weather makes playing in the snow much more enjoyable. In "Calm at the Restaurant," the Tiger family and the Platypus family go out for a taco dinner. Daniel and his friend Jodi get very excited and have to learn that there are times to be silly and times to be calm. The episode's key message is to "Give a squeeze nice and slow, take a deep breath and let it go" to help stay calm. In "Munch Your Lunch", the kids get classroom jobs. Daniel wants to be line leader, but that's not the job he gets. He learns that every job is important! In "Big Enough to Help", Dad Tiger is building a playhouse, and Daniel wants to help. Daniel is disappointed when he learns he is not big enough to use the grown-up tools. His dad helps him understand that he can still help in other ways, like holding the door and bringing the paint. The episode's lesson is that everyone is big enough to help with something. In "Daniel Tiger's Day and Night", we follow Daniel from when he wakes up to when he goes to bed. This special rhyming story shows us that everyone follows routines, and has ways of doing things that work for their family.
