My wife broke down crying yesterday. It wasn't out of sadness, but relief. I finally ordered a white cane on Amazon, and the moment I started using it, everything clicked. Despite not having my formal training yet (that starts tomorrow!), the immediate independence I felt navigating the house was palpable. I’m marveling at how easy it was to get, how intuitive it feels to use, and how much it helps. But, high excitement often comes with a price. During all the celebrations about the cane, I had a significant scare with my operated eye. I’m currently trying to determine if it is just severe strain from the excitement and activity, or if it is something I truly need to be concerned about. I’m trying to stay upbeat while resting more to track this new symptom. I am hoping things are still good, and still feeling very happy and blessed to be able to share this new breakthrough. It has been long overdue! 🚀 Support the Journey: If you’d like to help cover the costs of this surgery, trial travel, and recovery, you can support us here: https://gofund.me/2ad596a30 📺 Follow the Trial: Watch the full OCU400 Clinical Trial playlist here: • OCU400 Updates #OCU400 #WhiteCane #RetinitisPigmentosa #GeneTherapy #BlindLife #OrientationAndMobility #RecoveryVlog #ClinicalTrial #EyeSurgery #LowVision
