Garbh Bhienn Climb & Fly

Did not look great for cross country flying so we took the Corrar ferry to Ardgour to climb and fly on Garbh Bhienn. The walk in was relentlessly boggy, the approach to the climb was a really dodgy scramble in much and soaking wet grass. The cliff was dripping wet but no way we were reversing the approach so we chose the easiest route home a severe. The midgies were out in force to help belaying. Half way up I unknowingly went off piste onto a slimey E2. Actually nice rock and moves but it involved a thin crack full of slime. It was almost impossible to hold on and do required pull for a layback. No monster whippers and eventually we topped out. To top it all out the summit was in cloud. Garbh Bhienn was not it the best of moods! So then to get down, flying off down wind with the mini wings. Super fun keeping up with traffic travelling down the glen. Made it back to the sea and the sunshine, without any midges. What a day, hopefully the first of many climb and fly missions. Cheers Adrian!
