Practice is about trying slightly different things, finding new lines and rhythms, and building speed. I left out the slower laps, just to make sure I remembered some sections and worked out speed to hit some jumps. Here, we have a quick start to practice following Gee Atherton before getting in some laps with Aaron Weiss riding for Speed Shop Aptos. (An excellent suspension workshop in Aptos, Santa Cruz ). Then, I went for a speed run myself to simulate a race run. I peddled where I needed to for the different sections but cruised in between, saving the full pull effort for race day. I have a few things to tidy up and ensure I smoothly find the backside of every landing and pump. Peddle like a madman everywhere. And find some damn smoothness and pop for the lower rhythm section where I'm taking too long to compress and pop from table to table and casing just a touch. Added the timing for reference, but a good 10 seconds should come off that practice time of around 2:13. Subscribe and follow along to the racing and tuning videos I'll be sharing over the coming months as I try to build awareness for my new Suspension service shop as I start from the ground up. The shop, Vincent Speed Works, is based in Menlo Park, CA. While I have a 9-6 mon-friday mechanic day job, I'm trying to switch to work full time on VSW as business picks up. So I'm only taking bookings for Saturdays at the shop. If you need a service, you can check out my website for pricing and details and email me with questions.
