His interlocutors: Derk Sauer: media entrepreneur in Moscow since 1989 and chair of the Board of Stichting IWPR Netherlands Derk Sauer is the Former CEO and now board member of RBC Media, the leading independent media company in Russia. Alan Davis: IWPR’s Director Asia and Central Asia Alan Davis joined IWPR in 1994, after years as a reporter in Indo-China and East Asia. He has conducted programs in the Balkans, the Caucasus, Central Asia, Afghanistan, Iran and the Philippines. Margo Gontar: fact checks fake news in Ukraine As Co-founder and editor of fact-checking website StopFake.org, Gontar also works as producer and anchor of its weekly news TV show, StopFakeNews. Gontar has worked almost 15 years in the media industry, and in recent years has focused on propaganda, fake news, the weaponization of media and its direct influence on democratic processes and institutions, as well as phenomena as ‘post-truth’ and ‘post-truth society’. Artemy Troitsky: the critic who left Russia Artemy Troitsky is a Russian activist, cultural critic, lecturer and journalist. He played an important role in the anti-Soviet revolution of Soviet youth. Troitsky wrote, among others, "Back in the U.S.S.R.: The true Story of Rock in Russia" (1987). Jeroen Smit: writer, journalist, former professor in journalism and member of the Advisory Board of IWPR Netherlands.
