In this YouTube video, I share my review and feedback on the Trek Allant+ 9.9s, a speed pedelec I've had the pleasure of riding. I've been impressed by its speed, lightness, and durability, especially when compared to previous bikes I've owned that were heavier and less durable. I've encountered issues with the bike's sprockets, specifically the two smallest ones. They don't last and have issues with jumping or not properly engaging. I've tried tightening one with an unspecified part to mitigate this, but I believe these sprockets would benefit from being made of steel to improve their longevity. I'm also concerned about the gear ratio between the last and second-last gears. The jump between them is too large, negatively impacting the bike's performance. I'm critical of the bike's design, particularly a feature that reduces support when the cadence hits 80 rpm. This design forces me to maintain a lower average cadence of around 70, which is far from optimal for my riding style. This "clever" feature increases pressure on the sprockets, exacerbated by the bike's strong Bosch Performance CX motor, leading to faster wear and tear. I conclude by urging the manufacturer to allow riders like me the freedom to maintain our natural cadence. The current setup seems to limit the bike's efficiency and my comfort as a rider.
